FREE loaner video cameras will be available!
The event
Contestants will submit movies taken from flights on Saturday June 11th during NSL 2011. At the end of the day, the best movies will be screened at the NSL dinner to determine the crowd favorite!
FREE!!! Loaner Cameras
ROC will have a limited number of loaner video cameras. The cameras are the light weight keychain cameras that can be taped onto all different size rockets. The NSL video booth will have the cameras, mounting supplies (ok so it is just masking tape), and will download and edit the videos for you.
Bring your own video camera?
Sure, just remember that the video MUST be shot on Saturday the 11th at NSL. If you bring your own camera, you need to do you own editing. Videos should be less than 3 minutes long. You will need to put your video on a memory stick and bring it to the NSL video booth during the day. Keeping things fair, judging will be done in two categories, keychain cameras, and 'Open Category' bring your own fancy stuff and you will be in the 'Open Category'.
The Contest
Our judges' motto: "we don't know art but we know what we like!" The esteemed secret panel of judges will select the 'best' videos to be shown during dinner. From these the 'best' using a simple clap for the best system the winner will be named! You want scientific judging.. This isn't your contest!
The Prizes
The winner will get a prize so special we can't even mention it yet (heck we don't even have it yet but we are working on it).
Other Stuff
You retain copyright to your video. However, in exchange for entering it in the contest, you grant ROC a non-exclusive unlimited license to use your video in any way that it pleases (for example: posting it on the Internet), without compensation. In layman's terms: you still own the video, but you're giving us permission to use it so we don't have to worry being sued for editing it, playing it publically, or putting it online. (What's the fun of a rocket video contest if we can't show everyone the entries?)
