About ROC

The Rocketry Organization of California (ROC) is a model and high-power rocketry club based in Southern California. ROC is Prefecture #48 of the Tripoli Rocketry Association (TRA), and Section #538 of the National Association of Rocketry (NAR). On the second Saturday of every month, ROC holds sport launches at Lucerne Dry Lake in Lucerne Valley, CA. In June and November, our launch is stretched over three days (Friday through Sunday) for our hugely-popular ROCstock regional launch events. October's launch is ROCtober, a two-day (Saturday and Sunday) launch focused on supporting and encouraging rocketry programs and participation by scouts and other youth groups. All launches are safety-conscious, family-oriented events, designed to promote a fun and positive atmosphere, where rockets of all sizes are welcome! In 2001, 2007, and 2010, ROC hosted LDRS, which is the annual national launch event for the Tripoli Rocketry Association. In 2011, ROC is hosting NSL 2011, the annual National Sport Launch of the National Association of Rocketry, from June 10-12, 2011.
